The word "typo" comes from an unfortunate event in a hospital in the 1940's. A patient came in and needed a blood transfusion of type "B" blood. The label on the bag was misprinted, so it said "Type B" but it was actually "Type O". The patient, unfortunately, died and the story made some local headlines. Among the hospital staff they started calling misspelled words "Type-O's" as a bit of morbid humor. Over time the word got into public, and spread to common people as typo. This story is also interesting because the patient's family ended up suing the hospital for it's error for a huge sum of fifty-thousand dollars. Due to so some legal loopholes, the family was only able to collect about one thousand dollars.

Fun Fact
Here is a fun fact for you, did you know that diamonds are actually slightly acidic? If left exposed to skin for 2-3 days, you will see some skin peeling away, and/or slight irritation to wherever the diamond is exposed to. It is for this reason that many diamond rings contain gold or metal bases, which isn't affected by the acid.
